business class

Tonight I am packing for my first-ever business trip. I guess I’m a real adult now. Tomorrow I head out to Albuquerque, New Mexico and I don’t get back until the wee hours of Thursday morning. Luckily, my hotel seems to have some kind of internet connection so I can chat with the sweetie and update the blog (I hope).

I don’t normally travel for work, except for a day trip I took to Philly once. The problem is that I am a bit of an OCD traveler. I like to be really early, check to make sure my ID is in my wallet every 4 minutes, and pack every pair of shoes I own. Just. In. Case.

Packing for a business trip leads to a whole new set of anxieties. Such as, how can I make sure my suit doesn’t wrinkle? Will people think that my shoes are too pointy? Am I allowed to actually swim in the pool at the hotel or is that only cool if you are under age 12? Will packing my running shoes and my suit in the same suitcase make my suit smell like my feet? If New Mexico is next to Mexico, why is the high temperature supposed to be only 39 degrees tomorrow?!?

I can tell you that the one thing I am desperately looking forward to is eating REAL Mexican food, as opposed to the crappy, bland, “Tex-Mex” stuff DC offers.

  1. Don’t expect ‘real mexican’food in NM, which is definitely a good thing. Real mexican food is typically pure meat and tortillas – not really Alison and I’s favorite thing. Gimme vegetables man!

The tex-mex will be kick ass though.

Have a swim in the pool for us.

  2. Food…yummy!

I hope you get some good weather while you are there. Enjoy it for me.

    Fly safe!

  3. I am so jealous! Have great time, and come home safe, we’ve got a wedding to plan!
