have you heard? earpieces are “in” this season

The Secret Service has set up shop outside my office building this morning. I’ve seen about a dozen men in dark suits with fancy earpieces on all around the block. Rumor is that the First Lady is stopping by the museum next door.

Just a few days ago, I saw a bunch more agents outside of the Chipotle near my house. I wondered if maybe Dick Cheney was getting a burrito since his house is nearby, but then I figured it was probably just one of the twins. Unfortunately, the line to get in was out the door, so I didn’t get a chance to peek inside and see.

I know I have lived in DC for almost two years now, but something about seeing Secret Service people is still kinda exciting. Unfortunately, they aren’t usually as hot in real life as they are on TV…

  1. Can I also comment on hands free earpieces? I saw a grandma-aged woman wearing a pink one today. I found it disturbing.

  3. WHAT?! There is such a thing as non-good looking Secret Service agents?! I feel so deceived. I mean, Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard was an ex-SS agent…and he’s hot. I had always imagined that they all looked like him.

    That’s just as disappointing as, after living in LA, realizing that most hot actors are about 5’5″ at the tallest…

  5. I don’t even have a window anywhere in view from my cube. And if I did, I’d have a view of cars speeding past on the highway…. But one time there was a “hostage situation” on the highway outside and the SWAT team used our parking lot as the staging area. That was cool! Kinda?!
