coast to coast
February 26th, 2007 @ 11:37 pm | miscellany | Post a CommentHi! We are back from Orange County. I’m in that period of post-vacation recovery/denial where I am pissed that my vacation is over but also enjoying cuddling with my kitty on my couch while my laundry does itself. What?! You are telling me laundry doesn’t actually do itself? Dammit, now I am really in a pissy mood.
Our weekend was fabulous and included a few of the things on my To Do list and more. I drank my first Iced Blended from the Coffee Bean, saw a shiny red Lamborghini, window shoppped in Laguna Beach, partied in a house rumored to have once been in Architectural Digest, and fell in love with a little purse doggie. Of course, spending time with the newly marrieds and the rest of the family was very fun too. Photos to come soon.
Confidential to Bonnie: I’m so sorry I never called you back; I didn’t get your message until last night. Please forgive me, Beanbag!

Coffee Bean is pretty much the best thing ever and I feel bad for other parts of the country that can’t enjoy it regularly. Glad you got to try it.

So? Did you slap some sense into Slade?
I had more to say, but that was so delightfully alliterative I’ll leave it

Welcome home, dearest. I’m glad your laundry is behaving and looking after itself for you.

It sounds like you had a blast. The laundry thing is a bummer…I mean, that it doesn’t do itself. I waited all weekend to learn that about laundry…the lazy bastard.

Ooh, I have had one Coffee Bean drink on a visit in 1998 and have never forgotten it. One day.
Welcome back to the East Coast. It is with pride that I now accept the mantel of temporary West Coast blogging correspondent.

I am so glad you didn’t get stuck in Chicago! My mom called me yesterday JUST to tell me how lucky we were that we hadn’t planned our little jaunt to the windy city for this week. I feel so bad for all those people stuck in the airport… and very relieved that I didnt’ get to be one of them.
Welcome back!

So fun! Everything sounds great, except for the having-to-do-laundry part.

Well, fingers crossed that Chicago is clean by Friday morning when I fly in… And you know, the rest of the people for the meeting I organized fly in safe and sound. (I fly to Denver in two weeks and I know they’ll be fine, and then my next couple of trips are to DC on the train — I won’t miss worrying about being stranded in an airport once summer hits.)
I’m definitely going to have to hit a Coffee Bean next time I’m out there. I was in Berkeley a few weeks ago and finally got to try a Jamba Juice. Yummy! But totally, totally bad for you. Darn!
I think someone should invent a laundering service in the cargo hold of planes. Seriously, you would arrive home and all of yoru laundry would be clean and pressed and folded and ready to be put away. Ah… Of course, in my case, I would probably, um, overpack with dirty laundry to begin with…

Welcome back! I was glad to see that the weather didn’t affect your flights. Is it a bummer to be back in the land of snow and slush?

Hold the phone: Ya’ll don’t have Jamba Juice on the East Coast?!? That’s it… I don’t know if I can ever live there. I practically live off Jamba’s (still called Zuka’s in my part of the world) from April to October!! Too bad, I had always kind of fantasized about living in Boston!

Heidi, It would appear that I am mistaken and there is a JJ in one of the local whole foods stores, but I’m certain it’s not the same.

Welcome back. It’s quite pretty here, isn’t it?
I am day dreaming about buying a new washer/dryer when we move that is so fantastic is practically does your laundry for you. Maybe I can convince Bubba we NEED it.

I love California. But only to visit. I think it’s the sun.
Yes, it’s the sun. I miss the sun.
Sounds like you had fun. I can’t wait to hear more about it.
(Is Elise’s comment in reference to “The Real Housewives of OC”? If not, I just admitted how LAME I am for being in love with that show.)
(and also, are you going to BlogHer? Because I just got my plane tickets last night and YOU MUST GO!)
