love and hate, final four edition

love: that my house is (mostly) clean after five hours of scrubbing today! Holy crap it needed it badly.

hate: that I used up all my energy before I got to scrubbing the bathroom. You are all welcome to come over and eat off my kitchen floor but if you need to pee you’ll have to walk down to the Starbucks at the corner. No way am I letting anyone in there.

love: no jury duty tomorrow

hate: do they think I’m not good enough for their fancypants jury?! (Also, must to go to work instead. Blah.)

love: I have three of the four teams left in in the NCAA tourney.

hate: Husband picked them so I can’t really brag if I win. Hell yes I will take the money though!

love: I am finally (finally!) finishing the upload of my wedding photos.

hate: I still have not learned iMovie and have not made my wedding DVD. Why didn’t I just pay the lady an extra $500 to do it for me? I hate it when my cheapness comes back to get me.

love: our $1,000 tax refund!

hate: that it will go into the bank, into the savings account, and I will pretend I never even got it. So don’t remind me, okay?

love: the movie Reign Over Me, which we saw this weekend (warning: It’s definitely sad)

hate: Macy’s sent me this catalogue with The. Cutest. Shoes. Ever. in it. But I looked online and couldn’t find them. I looked in the store and couldn’t find them. My friend looked in an even bigger store and couldn’t find them. Why must you tempt me with cute shoes and then not let me buy them?!?!? (They are peep-toe wedges with adorable cherries on them. CHERRIES! I must have these shoes.) Has anybody seen these shoes with their own two eyes? I am issuing an APB.

    Too bad that you have to go to work tomorrow! But the case would have probably been extremely boring and you would’ve been dying to get back to the norm.

    $500 to put together your wedding video? No wonder you want to do it yourself!

    Love: Cooler weather
    Hate: Getting tired earlier, harder to wake up. Boo!

    Love: That a puppy was running around the school playground today and that I got a big cuddle with it.
    Hate: I had to give him back. Gah!

    Love: Long, giant emails.
    Hate: That I don’t get near enough of ‘em.

    Aw, no jury duty? Bummer! Oh well.. maybe next time. :D

    Hate: That my beloved Jayhawks aren’t one of them.

    Love: That is it almost April!
    Hate: That it is only 37 degrees outside.

    Love: My cute new shoes.
    Hate: That I stepped on a large crack in the sidewalk on Friday night and hurt my foot, so I can’t wear them.

    Hey, for $500, I’ll make your wedding video for you! Just kidding, but I do know iMovie fairly well, so feel free to bug me with any questions.

    And I’ll be on the lookout for cherry shoes. I feel like I’ve seen them before, but maybe it was in that Macy’s catalogue too!

    Love: that there are just five workdays between me and a whole week off from work

    Hate: that there are five whole workdays…

    Love: that I somehow got the whole Final 4 correct by myself!

    Hate: that I had no idea what my bracket looked like until I checked it out retrospectively and thereby lost out on a whole lot of gloating

    Love: did I mention vacation? :)

    Love: This is MY LAST MONDAY of work for the forseeable future!

    Hate: That despite having two baby showers already I still don’t have almost any of the essential baby items I need (but dang do I have some cute baby clothes!)

    Love: My husband’s home made cooked from scratch gourmet meals.

    Hate: That he doesn’t do the dishes, too. (At least not on the same night that he cooks.)

    Love: That it is now spring and the weather is warming up!

    Hate: That it is overcast and gloomy today.

    Love: That my yard is coming alive with emerald green grass, popping flowers, and birds galore.

    Hate: That I still have sooo much more to do in the back yard since it is pretty much a blank canvas.

    Love: That my sister is getting married and that I am her coordinator.

    Hate: That I have no extra time to myself and am really behind in school work.

    LOVE that I got to spend the weekend outdoors in the mountains, and that it was 70 degrees and breezy.

    HATE that my camera ran out of battery-juice halfway through the day! Gaaah!

    LOVE the crab and avocado omelette that I had for breakfast (Mmmmmmm, yum!)

    HATE that I am currently sitting at work, trying to get motivated and feeling guilty because it’s just not happeneing.

    LOVE the fact that I have a shiny yellow car – it always makes me smile!

    I may have seen those cherry shoes this weekend, but now I have to remember where!

    I can only think of hates right now, and that makes me sad, so I am not going to share. Aargh.

    Also: Love todays’ Ellen show – she had this aDORable 18 year old kid and his SO-Italian mom on. The kid pulled 3 boys about 8, 12 and probably 15-17 out of 1/2 frozen water – she also brought them and their mother out and gave them all tickets to go see Derek Jeter play baseball. Oh, and my current entry gets love, too. Heh.

    Love: That you’ve vouched for Reign Over Me, which I’m dying to see.

    Hate: I honestly think stores do that on purpose: show you something supercute, then make you go on a wild goose chase for the privilege of buying it!

    Double hate: That it works on me every. damn. time.

    Love: I’m finally back home!

    Hate: Having to come into the office now that I’m home.

    Love: The sunny, warm weather.

    Hate: Neverending vet bills.

    Love: That my new, healthy kitty is a cuddle monster when he’s not busy playing with all the bajillion cat toys we have lying around.

    And finally, love: that Joel has created a plan for sharing household chores that — so far — seems to be working!

    Reign Over Me! My wife’s boss is buddies with Mike Binder, and Binder actually asked my wife to read the script of the film a year and a half ago when he was thinking about producing it. The script was SO GOOD. I read it on a flight a year ago and was practically in tears when we landed. You have no idea how close that film actually came to never being made. I can’t wait.

    love: my daughter started saying “mama” this week.
    hate: that she also has decided she hates all food except cheerios.

    love: my house is so clean because my husband has been super motivated
    hate: my husband has to have yet another surgery. tomorrow. which explains the motivation.

    love: spring weather, Easter colors, polka dots, cadbury creme eggs, and dressing my daughter in all these cute spring outfits.
    hate: not having anything to wear in my own closet.
