love & hate, vacation edition
love: Starting a 6:00 pm EST on 12/21/07, my twelve day vacation will commence
hate: the number of minutes between now and 6:00 EST on 12/21/07 (unless of course you are reading this after that time, in which case there is nothing to hate)
love: spontaneously, we went to see a movie last night. Juno. It was lovable and quirky, I recommend.
hate: the guy sitting next to me (not the one I’m married to, the stranger on the other side) fell asleep and snored (!) throughout 60% of the film!
love: my Secret Blogger Santa — except I don’t yet know who she is! She got me a gift card so I can buy #1 on this list
hate: I haven’t quite finished the final present to give to my SBS. I suck! It’s coming, I swear!
love: I’m working on making a recap of 2007 just like I did for 2006. Anybody else wanna do it with me?
hate: I’m about to enter the land of dial-up for five days, so there will be a lack of blog reading and writing.
love: I get to go home and hang out with my family for six whole days, I seriously cannot wait.
hate: I haven’t seen my sister in a YEAR. Considering we were together our whole lives right up through college, that is downright insane. All I can say is thank god for unlimited cell phone plans.
love: I am also planning to see these lovely ladies while I’m home. I love that so many of my friends are bloggers — it really helps us keep in touch from afar.
hate: packing for all this traveling. And then the actual traveling, blah.
love: end-of-year bonuses!
hate: that we don’t give more to charity…really, we should do more.

Love: JUNO and am seeing it AGAIN today on my “lunch break”. Dude, see this movie.
Hate: That is isn’t “lunch time” yet.
Love: That, if I do, come into work week I’m bringing the kid with me.
Love: My kid.
Love: The 2 Christmas cards I got yesterday that told of friends being knocked up. Hooray for babies.
Hate: That I didn’t have your new address so I had to send your card to your old address and just hope it gets forwarded in time.

Hate: That I have to work almost every day next week while JG is off from school
Love: Getting to see my sister soon
Hate: Having to coordinate outfits so we don’t unknowingly wear the same exact thing again. (“You have to change!” “No, I was down here first, so YOU change!”)

Love: 11 days off of work starting tomorrow!!
Hate: That we have 11 days off INSTEAD of a holiday bonus, boo!
Love: That I’ll get to see Sweeney Todd tomorrow night!
Hate: That there will probably be horrible, rude people in the theater that will make me homicidal
Love: That Colby and I will be spending Christmas together for the first time as a married couple
Hate: That we won’t be with our families
I can’t wait for your year end recap! I do something similar for the New Year and on my blog birthday, and it’s always so interesting to look back and see how much has changed in the past year!

hate: driving those 4 hours and having to entertain myself
love: that i just got the entire series of sex and the city on dvd!
hate: that i won’t get to watch it until i return from christmas vacation because my dad would probably die of shock!

Love: That I am having fun at home with my friends, family and boy
Love: That we went to the Corcoran for the Ansel Adams and Annie Leibovitz exhibits this morning and we get to see Charlie Wilson’s War in an hour!
Hate: That I haven’t seen Juno yet, along with all the other movies that I still need to see.
Love: That I get to see my extended family in Boston and finally really relax.
Hate: That I have been on vacation for a week and still haven’t had a super relaxing time since I am always planning for more and more activities.

Hate: I went to the doctor yesterday after work and today was too sick to go to work. How stupid is that?
Love: I’m mostly done with shopping and wrapping of presents.
Love: I feel like I’ve gotten really awesome presents for everyone this year and I am really excited for them to be opened.
Hate: I still have some sewing to do and I have NO idea when I will be getting it done.
Love: Time with family and friends.

I say you work on the Ambitious Mrs. to do a year in review recap…especially since her recap will include entertaining things like ‘having a kid’ and ‘moving’ whereas my recap would be like ‘found belly button lint’ and ‘bought jeans’.

hate: having to be stuck at work @ 6:30AM on the Saturday before Christmas in order to do so.

hate: feeling like a chubs afterwards (I swear, in January I’ll detox!).

hate: that the husband has yet to show evidence of any shopping whatsoever. Typical male, eh?
