this is a test

Whew! It’s been quite a week. I think it might be time for a little test. Don’t worry, I grade on a curve. (Oh, and just to be clear, in this quiz, you are taking it in the first person. So you are “I” — get it? This is why I am not really a teacher, btw. I can’t write good.)

A. The farmer is totally not hot. At all.

B. The girls are trashy caricatures who probably all have chlamydia and below average IQs.

Oh, dear. I have never heard of that farmer show, and I stock up on stuff all the time. Don’t judge my yogurt consumption!

I would DVR “30 Rock” and skip the rest. Sorry, my shows are commitments. Oh, and I had a crush on Ben Savage.

Squeal for jeans! Me, too, but mine are not company-sanctioned. I am such a rebel as I read MSNBC.com.

The sister is in charge of ordering the combo MD gift, but we’ve picked it out (viva Red Envelope!), and I have a card ready to go out next week. It’s just how I roll. (Also, this is crazy, but what about a copy of “Little Shop of Horrors” for your sister’s graduation? You know, for the “Wanna Be a Dentist” song?)

I’ve never experienced WW, but it seems to work for folks, so I’m cool with that. This weekend, I am looking forward to a climbing trip tomorrow! Pray I don’t get poison ivy.

Alright! LOVE this. Mostly because I was a huge nerd in school.

    1. All of the above
    2. C
    3. Skip all
    4. John Stamos in Full House. So not appropriate for a tween.
    5. A – am jealous
    6. B & C, but not in that order.
    7. Giant FALSE
    8. A, if you can manage to stick to it. I can’t.
    9. Spending time with the hubby. He’s been gone all week.

Fun, a quiz! Bonus is that I don’t have to use my brain for original thought, which is good because I am currently incapable, and now I get to comment!

    1. B and C. And what’s up with the stars, for real? How did THAT not get caught in editing?

    2. C. I have been known to tell people that I wished they would just make a big dog of Human Food, and label it as such – that way I wouldn’t have to figure out what I’m eating, how many points it’s worth, etc. I say waffles are safe and yummy, so yay! Also, I wish I had a waffle.

    3. LOST – watch, 30 Rock – Tivo, Grey’s – SKIP! I’m totally ugh over Grey’s.

    4. This guy who played a character named “Spike” in a community center play/musical I watched. The play was awful (obvs, since I can’t even remember what it was called OR was about, other than it was set in the 1950s), but I LOOOVED the Spike guy. I went out after the play was over and bought the cassette tape so that I could play all of Spike’s songs over and over; I got the poster – I think my mom seriously considered sending me to community theater, but my interest was solely for Spike :)

    5. A! And yay for you for posting the pic as well.

    6. C. I know, I hate myself too. I do catch up, occasionally, on real news.

    7. False. Don’t even know what I’ll get yet.

    8. A? I have no idea; have never tried it. Although I may be about to with a friend! Definitely not C, I need to know more.

    9. I’m going SOMEWHERE, but I don’t know yet whether it will be San Antonio or Los Angeles. I’m not excited about making that decision, though.

    1. C…I’m too OCD
    2. C (as long as it won’t make you sick of them, which always happens to me…I eat too much of one thing and then hate it after like two weeks!)
    3. Watch LOST & Grey’s (down in NC there is not a time conflict…is this true for the rest of TV land?)
    4. not a crush, but I had an irrational obsession with Angela Lansbury…I loved Murder She Wrote (I can’t believe my parents let me watch that!) and this geriatric exercise video she had. I also used to name all my dolls after her
    5. A…yay for jeans!
    6. Morning Express with Robin Meade
    7. True! I got her a monogrammed JCrew beach bag (on sale!)
    8. A…two of my aunts have both lost over 50 pounds in the last 8 months or so…bye bye baby weight!

WATCH- 30 Rock (except I also dvr this or watch it online)

    4. Andrew McCarthy, although it seems perfectly rational to me. Didn’t you see Mannequin?
    5. A
    6. C
    7. False
    8. A
    9. The gym. ( I can’t believe I said that, who am I? )

    Must add 10th question.

    10. What did you think of The Office last night?

well I was mad that bad weather sucked up the whole half hour but I was able to watch it online this morning. and I’m a little disappointed. it wasn’t their best episode.

  6. Nilsa S.

You are giving me a test. On a Friday. Expecting my attention span to be worth a damn? Particularly when the sky just got really dark and thunder is rattling through my office? NOT.A.CHANCE.

But, I will say two things…
    (1) LOVE that new purse of yours. Really fresh!
    (2) Yes, please do come to Chicago, my dear! At some point, I might even have a guest room to offer you! Summer really is the best time to see this fine city!

  31. Kristin
    May 5, 2008 9:37 am

    1. As if society is not already getting dumber by ALL the other horrible reality TV shows, we need this really really horrible one to set the bar even lower.
    2. I myself am a woman who finds a food (or song, etc…) and becomes horribly addicted to it. For example, I currently eat taco salad for dinner at least 4-5 times a week (sadly, I kid you not) and also, I cannot stop playing the song “Breathe me” by Sia. (Last month it was “Mexico” by jump little children. Thus, my love for you will only grow stronger as your addiction to wheat waffles persists.
    3. I don’t actually watch any of those shows. A) Lost is a show for crazy people who will likely have “lost” all sense of what could realistically happen to a group of people stranded on an island by the time they ever (wisely) decide to end that crazy excuse for a TV show . B) I don’t even know what 30 Rock is, though I have heard of it. And C) I too only watch Grey’s Anatomy (on a very rare occasion now) when I am stressed out and need something to yell at, very loudly. I have NEVER seen a show that started out so good, get so unbelievably bad.
    4. And this is the most important one, it was definitely Rafael (red mask) not Donatello (purple mask). And it isn’t my fault I had a weakness for the vulnerable and injured bad-boy and he was the turtle that got hurt and was alienated from his other anthropomorphized animal friends. In fact, here is brief synopsis of Rafael’s character, per my “higher being” wikkipedia: “Raphael (Red) — The team’s anti-social bad boy, Raphael has an aggressive nature and seldom hesitates to throw the first punch. He is an intense fighter. His personality can be alternately fierce and sarcastic. He is intensely loyal to his brothers and sensei.” I hate to say it but this sort of, unfortunately, sounds like the type of guy lots of girls fall for when they are young, before they realize that nice guys are actually the way to go. Other than Rafael I had a HUGe crush on JTT. If this needs to be explained then you wouldnt understand.
    5. As a grad student, I could come to “work” in a giant onsie pajama jumper (the kind with the butt flap) and I would still get paid. Thus I am gonna give an overwhelming “whoop-de-doo” on your wearing jeans to work (Love you though)
    6. I choose D for this one, which is NPR, though CNN.com comes in a pretty close 2nd.
    7. False, have not yet bought or sent mothers day gift, but always do the same thing which is to order her two books from amazon.com that will send them right to her. So easy i dont even have to leave my “office”.
    8. I pick C for the weight watchers thing, but only bc you used the acronym STFU, which cracks me up.
    9. The triathlon that I “survived”

    b. SKIP!
    c. tivo. I never got into greys but i want to! I have all the season waiting in my netflix queue if i ever get around to watching them…

    4. Bon Jovi. I loved the big hair I had all the cassette tapes and posters on my wall when i was like…five. my sister? was all about Tiffany and Debbie Gibson but even at the ripe ages of 4-5 years old i was still livin’ on a prayer.

    5. c. none of the above? Be insanely jealous because i would DIE for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. stupid job.

    6. B, C and D – morning joe on MSNBC. <3 msnbc morning news.

    7. when you originally posted this it would have been false. now it’s true…i bought a card over the weekend. now i just need to call my sister and see if she can pick up flowers that i order since my mother lives in the middle of bumblefuck nowhere and i know the florist would get lost if i even TRIED to get them delivered.

    8. B – not gonna lie…i couldn’t stick to it. But i commend people who do!

    9. I was excited about gold cup! Nothing says high class like drinking cheap beer and wine while dressed up in your sunday afternoon best!

Ok…I’m a bit late on this post. But, I totally thought I had added you to my google reader and I didn’t notice it wasn’t showing up. And then you mentioned about a post in our WW world and I was like, post?? what post?? So, I looked it up and apparently your blog wasn’t added..oh the tragedy!! So, here are my answers (better late than never):

    1. It’s a tie between B and C. The women are idiots. And, I totally didn’t notice the stars until now…and it is completely bugging me now that I know. As for the farmer, he is a definite hottie!!

    2. Being on WW I know that it is totally reasonable. I have at least 2 puddings every day. And, I’m pretty sure that’s worse than waffles. Yes, one my refridgerator drawers actually only holds the pudding. I think that might be sad.

    3. So, we’re probably not going to be friends anymore after I tell you this, but I don’t watch Lost or 30 Rock. I know, I know…I suck. However, I do DVR Grey’s and LOVE IT!! In fact, even if I’m home when it, or any show for that matter, is on, I watch something else I’ve DVR’d so that I don’t have to wait through the commercials when watching it live. I’m a freak…I know.

    4. Can I only put one?? Because I do believe that I had a new irrational crush every week when I was a teenager. Hmm…I guess the MOST irrational would be the kid in Casper (the ghost, which might have actually been Casper himself if I remember correctly) and the kid in Ladybugs (yes, the one that dresses as a girl).

    5. Definitely squeal of delight. I’m currently in pajama pants and a tank top, but starting in September when I start my real job I’ll have to wear suits every day. Yuck.

    6. FoxNews, People, CNN, and Popsugar online (in that order). As for the actual paper newspaper, I also get the local New Jersey paper and the Wall Street Journal delivered.

    7. I have already bought my Mom’s gift (though it is just a card), and it is already in the mail. (Though since I’m a bit late on this post, I guess that doesn’t deserve bonus points.)

    8. WW is WORKING!!! Yah us!!

    9. This weekend, I’m most excited about relaxing with The BF with no finals or papers or anything to worry about.
