a couple of maternity photos

Thank you all for your nice comments on my last post. I go back and forth between toughing it out and whining nonstop, and it felt good to hear that I am not crazy, and being miserable does not make me ungrateful. So, thank you, dear friends.

Usually, my mom is the family photographer and photo editor, but she has the nerve to live many states away from here, and she recently went to Italy to celebrate her birthday, leaving me sans photographer or photo editor. So, my DC-BFF (with the help of her parents) kindly took some photos of Andrew and me. I though I’d share them here, so we can all look back one day and marvel at The Belly.

These were taken two weeks ago, so try to imagine that I’m even larger today. Oh, my!

Andrew & Janet

This last one is my favorite, because we look so calm and peaceful. We may not feel that way again for a long while.

I know you don’t feel this way, but you look gorgeous. Andrew is a lucky guy, and so are those babies.

Beautiful portraits. You look so healthy and glowy! And your Andrew looks so proud! I have had my Andrew take pictures of me, for documentation, but I wish he were in more.

I am impressed that you can still get jeans on! My maternity jeans, even with the big stretchy coverage (tummy bra?) now feel like they are digging into my lower belly.

And, regarding your last blog. I do feel, even without twins, mopey, whiney, and hypersensitive about the discomforts of pregnancy too. I think work has helped me because I have no time to think about it during the day. But when I’m tired in the evenings, flopping around in bed…ugh. Like you, I’m also super grateful for this experience (and this baby!!!).

I love these Janet! I think you should frame that last one as a reminder to try to relax and be in the moment when the babies do come. Sooooooo excited for you and A!

You look gorgeous. And also, I think you don’t look huge at all! Especially considering it’s TWINS.

I love these! Yes, the belly is big (except I think I was that big with just one), but you wear it so well. You don’t look at all uncomfortable either! Glowing, actually. And calm. And like a couple of awesome parents, already. :)

These are absolutely lovely. I know you are anxious for the boys to get here, but I really hope you do enjoy these last days of calm! Life is about to turn upside down for you! In a great way!

Now matter how you feel about these photos right now I PROMISE you will be glad to have them someday. I have a favorite video that I made of the remote control bobbing around on my belly when April was moving around like crazy. It’s hard for me to believe that’s even my body when I look at it!

    Thank you for sharing!
