random useless tidbits (mostly about babies)

As of Wednesday, the babies are four weeks old. Thursday (Dec 6th) is their official due date. And on Friday (Dec 7th) they will be one month old. Whoa, stop with the growing up so fast, children!

Want to see their cute faces? Can you tell them apart already? (Teddy is on the left.)

I am very, very lucky in ways I can’t even count, but one of them is that Andrew has six weeks of PAID paternity leave, plus a bunch more paid time off he’s saved up, so he is home full time with me until mid-January. It’s like we’re running our own little Scandinavian country over here with both parents home with the babies and still getting paid. Yay for working for a progressive, generous company who values parenthood!

I left the house tonight without babies for the second time since they were born. The first time, Andrew and I went to see Silver Linings Playbook (verdict: recommend, really liked it, could have been 30 minutes shorter) and tonight my BFF and I went to see Jake Tapper speak about his new book, The Outpost. I’m really looking forward to reading the book, though a bit intimidated because I haven’t even had the mental stamina to finish an Entertainment Weekly in the last month.

My life still revolves around feeding the children, but I’m a little scared of turning over this blog into b00btalk. So, um, come join me on twitter where I seem to talk about it all the time!

I ordered my combination Christmas cards + Birth announcements today and I am so ridiculously excited to get them in the mail and send them back out again. I found a designer on etsy to custom make them, and ordered the prints online, and if they turn out half as cute as I imagine, I’ll be super happy. And I’ll post them here once they’ve hit the mail, I promise.

I am so very, very, very behind on Thank You notes. Oh, my.

A baby is crying and the pump has been going so long it shut itself off. My cues to publish and go to bed. Night, all.

Hopefully it’s easier to tell them apart in person… or if you’re the mom. ha!
How am I not following you on twitter yet? Must get on that.

Just teasing. But I do LOVE the pictures and updates. Seeing you and Andrew with your boys makes my heart feel so good.

And no, I can’t tell them apart. I suck.

that is so awesome that andrew gets 6 weeks paid paternity! you’d think that since jon owns his own business he could take 6 weeks off…but he’ll actually be finishing up building a house right around the time I’m due – so I think I’m on my own during the days. Luckily, the house he’s building is on our same street so he’ll be close by.

the boys are looking super adorable these days. i do feel like they look different, maybe it’s the face shape? either way, they’re gorgeous. how lucky to stay home with them until january!

Wow, and I thought Bart’s 3 weeks was generous! Can’t imagine having only a week like many many people do.

So nice about the maternity AND maternity leaves! I get six weeks paid, which is great (though come America, catch up to Canada and most of Europe already), but Mike doesn’t get anything. My employer offers paternity leave… his does not. His also doesn’t offer maternity leave though, so at least I work where I do and not there!

Anyway, the babies are just death by cuteness. And no, I can’t tell them apart. I’m terrible at that stuff though. I’m sure you see so many subtle differences that make them unique!
