second try here
August 31st, 2005 @ 10:34 pm | miscellany | Post a CommentOH EFF, I just wrote an Entire blog post and then my stupid cheap computer and it’s stupid broken battery came unplugged and shut down and there went my beautiful writing…Ha, I wish. I was feeling sad about New Orleans. I still am feeling sad about New Orleans. But I can’t really do anything except continually refresh nola.com and call my friends and try to do some work so I won’t have to tell my boss that I did nothing this week because I couldnt stop thinking about my poor wet city.
On the bright side, it seems like most of my friends are okay and although they are worried about their homes and stuff they really can’t do anything but just be thankful that they got out okay. It seems like everything else is up in the air. This whole thing is still just totally unbelievable to me and I won’t even really try to talk about it because I’ll just start blabbering and y’all know how I feel anyway because I’m sure you feel the same way.
The more mundane things: I have’t been knitting because I dropped a stitch last weekend. Although I apparently feel qualified enough to MAKE a sweater, I am not qualified to fix the simplest of knitting mishaps. That is where my friend Beth comes in and saves the day so I can finish the damn sleeve and post a damn picture already!
Andrew and I are going to Boston this weekend. His friend from MIT, Rain, is getting married. Should be fun. I like hanging out with MIT people because it makes me feel pretty! (Is that wrong?) Although Rain will be a beautiful bride, of course, because all brides are GLOWING! (Preggers ladies too. See Amalah in my links for proof.)
That’s all for tonight. If you hear any news from Tulane people or just Tulane itself or even Uptown, let me know. I’ll try to keep you all posted, too.

i once visited mit, and the only reason i thought i might want to go there is because i thought i could be the queen of the whole school. you are not wrong to feel pretty around mit people.
(i also saw someone blow his nose on the sidewalk and my tour guide was wearing a cat sweater and christmas earrings in october. or it could have been a christmas sweater and cat earrings. either way it was BAD.)

my friend beth told me today that she once considered going to MIT for grad school if she ever got to a point in her life where she was really looking for a husband. (luckily, she just got engaged!)
although I really shouldn’t talk crap. some of Andrew’s MIT friends are remarkably attractive. (as is he, of COURSE!
)
and I can’t decide what is MORE offensive. blowing a nose on a sidewalk or catChristmas sweaterearrings.
