I like Martha better when she is baking
September 28th, 2005 @ 11:03 pm | domestic | Post a CommentAnd I don’t mean that in a sexist way. I watched Apprentice:Martha tonight. I can’t say I didn’t like it, because there is something about bad reality tv that sucks me in, but I’m also not sure I’ll keep it in my TiVo lineup.
The problem is that she doesn’t offer anything that Apprentice:Trump doesn’t give you. Essentially, it ends up being a show about business principles (marketing, price points, blah blah) when really what I want is a show about arts and crafts and cooking and basketweaving! I can appreciate that Martha is a relentless and brilliant businesswoman who has overcome adversity in the past year. But I personally don’t aspire to run a corporation, I aspire to bake poofy souffles and monogram fine linens! Perhaps I should just stick to watching her on HGTV.
In other TV related news (do I have a life outside of TV? I swear I do, but you wouldn’t know it lately…) Andrew and I have been using our entire Netflix queue on Lost Season 1. Right now we are on disc 5 and have the first two episodes of Season 2 waiting in the wings. How come I didn’t watch this show sooner? (The best part is that Andrew cuddles with me during the scary parts.)
