chez mclamerson, part II
October 16th, 2005 @ 12:02 am | domestic | Post a Commentoh the domesticity! Today was my second all-day sewing class extravaganza. We had to make an item of clothing, and I made this nifty little shirt below.
I am proud of it for several reasons. 1. It’s cute and I can wear it out. 2. When I first finished it didn’t fit quite right so I took out a bunch of seams and sewed them all back up differently. So I can sew AND I can alter. 3. This is sewed in a stretch knit fabric, and all the ladies at the fabric store were impressed that I could sew something stretchy and not mess it up. Woo hoo!
Sorry for the headless photo. I couldn’t let my pale, puffy, makeupless face detract from the pretty blue shirt though.
Since I was already out in BFE Maryland, I stopped by the Target on the way home and bought some giant rubber organizing tubs. I came home and did a massive organizing of my closet, the junk closet, all my sewing, knitting, and other crafty things, and all of the gajillion papers and other crap I seem to collect. Andrew is going to die when he sees the closet tomorrow!
Before: (And No, I did not purposefully mess all this up so as to get a really bad “before” photo. This is really the regular insanity of the closet. But seriously, Andrew and I share this tiny closet and one dresser. That’s it. We live in a shoebox.)
After:

LOVE the shirt but don’t call yourself puffy.
Can you come over and do my closet now?

I love how there’s a random tennis ball in your “before” picture.
