the life of a new bride-to-be

This weekend has been so much fun. Since the big news from Friday, it’s gone a bit like this.

Andrew’s hungry, I’ll cook him breakfast. Cause we’re getting married! I should clean the kitchen, too. Cause I’m engaged! I really need new brown boots for the winter. Will they match my engagement ring? Isn’t this a pretty shirt here at the Nordsrom sale? Not as pretty as my ring.

Let’s go out to dinner so we can tell people we are getting married. I’ll have a second drink because I am going to be a bride! The weekend is going too fast. Let’s reenact the proposal. Isn’t my ring pretty? Isn’t is sparkly! We’re engaged. I’m a fiancee. Wow.

Basically, I haven’t been able to string even two thoughts together that do not have something to do with diamonds, weddings, or Andrew’s bachelor party. (Wait, that’s what HE is excited about.)

There are so many things to discuss and so many decisions ahead of us. But we are going to squeeze every ounce of happiness out of this weekend first.

  1. Geez. You are too dang cute. You little knitting fiance you. Enjoy the next while before you get all crazy with the planning part….

  2. My fiance asked me to marry him back in March. I still get all mushy when I think about his great proposal. And I am TOTALLY guilty of having asked him to please ask me again, because it was so much fun the first time!!! :)
    Congratulations!

  3. EVERYTHING! Matches your engagemnt ring. Yea! for sparkly new accesories.

  4. Yes, be happy and don’t even think about reception halls and the cost of live flowers versus silk.

And you are right-nothing is as pretty as your shiny new ring.

  5. you are a much better fiance than I ever was…
