weight watching

I took three naps today. Yes, you read that correctly. One on the couch alone. One on the couch with Andrew. And one in the bed with Andrew. I had to really work at the last one, considering I am really not that tired.

This napping serves a purpose though. You see, Andrew and I are on a serious diet, and I am STARVING. The only time when I am not aware of my starving-ness is when I am asleep.

When I am awake, I can’t stop thinking about cheese. And anything made of simple carbs. Or salty fried things. It’s not like we are doing Atkins or something and can’t have carbs, but they don’t exactly keep you full for very long when you are trying to limit your calories.

So here I am on Day 5 of the diet — hungry but well-rested, and unfortunately not yet skinny. I sure hope my stomach shrinks soon because I don’t think my boss will let me take three naps a day at work.

  1. How many cals a day are you eating? I’m doing the diet thing too… so far, so good. My big issue is getting my butt to the gym!

Just know ya aren’t suffering alone!

  2. I wanted to comment and tell you when I was doing the Body for Life plan (which I would recommend for the most part) you only diet 6 days a week. On my day off EVERY WEEK all I wanted to eat was liquid cheese! Argh! The problem is, when you start eating REALLY healthy like that, when you eat liquid cheese it makes you feel bad. Anyway, you should give yourself a day off every once and a while. :)

  3. if you don’t eat enough calories, your body will go into starvation mode and will start hording fat. you should eat at least 1600 calories a day. . . i have been reading WAY too many magazines. . . i think i need a harder job.

  4. gum.
that’s the only way i can stop eating. :)

  5. I’m the exact opposite of you–napping makes me hungry. When I wake up from a nap, I wander into the kitchen in a zombie-like state and start eating everything in sight! Must be because napping is such a strenuous activity…
