how do you say “i do” en espanol?

At 6:55 tonight I was riding the bus home and feeling like I just might pass out from exhaustion and hunger right there onto some stranger’s lap. (Yes, I take the bus instead of the much faster Metro because I really don’t like the freakishly long escalators.) Andrew called and I moaned and whined to him, swearing that I would be in bed with the lights out by 8 pm.

But here I am at nearly midnight. It’s amazing what a little wedding planning can do to the system! Oh, and food. My lunch of lentil soup (only 2 points!) was just not doing it for me by about 4 pm.

I finally spoke with a travel agent/wedding planning person and she gave me all kinds of advice and prices and menus and pictures and whatnot. I feel like we are finally (officially 2 months into the engagement) thinking about securing a time and place. The cheesy part is that we might get married on the anniversary of getting engaged. You can now all say a collective “Awww, cute.” Really, it doesn’t matter, but it is cute in a way.

I am going strong on Day 9 of The Diet. My sister is coming to visit in March and we plan to go dress shopping then. Thanks to all you commenters with your diet tips. I swear I am not really starving myself, though not indulging in a chocolate break every hour can feel like that some days. I am trying to eat about 1,200 (ish) calories a day and chewing lots of gum in between meals. I’ll keep you posted on the progress (unless you think it is incredibly mind-numbing, which it probably is, but I’ve put a hiatus on all the arts and crafts in my life and have to talk about something!)

  3. congrats on your engagement! and on starting the wedding planning portion. I’m about 3 months away from my wedding and I’ve stopped sleeping and can only think about the wedding and what could go wrong. Enjoy your time now. And do as much as you can right now. Don’t leave things for the last minute… if you like sleeping.

  4. Sounds like you are really sticking to your diet! That’s great!

I can’t wait to see pics as you really get rolling with your planning… like your dress. :)

  5. I must admit that even though I don’t know you, know you, I am so excited about your wedding!!!

I haven’t been married quite 1 year so I’m still fairly obsessed with weddings and marriage etc.

If you want any books or magazines let me know!

  6. Ah, wedding planning. I miss it so. Discovered your blog through amalah. Love it!

I assumed you’ve checked out your local DC board on theknot.com? I know the DC one is really active, and I found theknot advice indispensable.

  7. FYI Janet, all you have to say is Si! for I do. Yeah, I’m a huge dork for Spanish.

  8. Something else to consider in losing weight is making sure you drink lots of water (at least 64 oz a day) and eating fiber. (Try whole wheat pasta) That’s the whole key behind Weight Watcher’s Points system. The higher the fiber content the less points (which is why if you buy their ice cream snacks, they are less points than others with the same calories/fat, because they have some fiber. But they are still the best low fat ice cream treats I’ve tried) Check out my blog for recipes too… My husband is on a diet kick now, and I was last year, so I have quite a few good recipes posted…

  9. oh, and from your picture, I don’t think you need to lose weight! You are beautiful! But I understand wanting to look your best for your wedding… :)
