hugo’s first roadtrip
March 5th, 2006 @ 10:41 pm | meow | Post a CommentThis weekend we left Howie home with a babysitter and took Hugo on his very first roadtrip to Delaware. It’s a good thing we are only parents to cats instead of real children, otherwise we could have been cited for pulling a Britney and driving with our baby on our lap. Hugo was not at all interested in sitting still, but rather liked to chill out on the dashboard and crawl around the backseat while I was getting gas.
This was especially funny when we went through the Taco Bell drive-thru and Hugo tried to escape out my window and into the restaurant. Perhaps he had a craving for a CrunchWrapSupreme? The guys working the window definitely thought we were insane for having a very large Toonces-like cat in the car.

(Don’t worry people, we didn’t really let him wander around the car while it was moving)
The rest of the weekend was fairly uneventful, which is generally the reason for going up there. We did a tax-free Target shopping run and met up with Jessica for long overdue manicures, pedicures, and wedding chitchat. Now just watching the Oscars and getting ready for the work week…

What a cute cat! I swear that our dog thinks she’s a cat. Instead of laying in the backseat, where she has all the room she wants, she tried to lay on the console between the two seats. And then there’s the whole licking the window thing…such a crazy dog.

I love the pictures. I am not sure what Preston would do if we let him roam around the car. Probably just poop all over everything.
Oh, and The King totally wants to put him in the new stroller and take him for a walk outside. Right…like that will go well.

I am so glad that someone else takes their cat on roadtrips. I have two, one who is terrified to leave the house (he stays home with a sitter) and one who lives to travel, and I take him with me every time I go away for the weekend. Except, he refuses to be in a cat carrier, and has Houdini-ed his way out of several. He likes to sit shotgun, or on the rear window console, to he can fully take in the scenery. When the Britney scandal came out, the first thing I thought was “I’m a bad person for not making Madison ride in a carrier.”
