the stars have aligned in my favor, mostly

Let me just announce that today I watched Oprah on my TiVo, showered without soaking my calves in bathwater, and received a call on my new cell phone! I don’t know what happened, but it feels like Santa shimmied down my (nonexistent) chimney to declare an early Christmas!

I know why the shower works (Drano) and why the cellphone works (2 more calls to customer service, one of them perhaps ending in an exasperated and muffled Eff You. Click. Perhaps.). But the TiVo? No clue! This morning, it just simply worked!

I need to end this short post now and put away my seventeen piles of clean clothes before Andrew takes my ring back to the jeweler and calls the wedding off. Apparently I don’t get credit for just washing and drying the clothes; I also must put them away. Which gets to the dilemma of Where Do They All Go? because my closet space is the size of your microwave.

And also? If you are in need of a cup or two or twenty of milk, perhaps to do some baking or cooking or feeding a classroom of preschoolers, please feel free to stop by because we seem to have 3.75 gallons in my fridge. In addition to not putting clean clothes away, I also cannot read grocery lists and decided to buy two extra gallons of milk to add to the two I bought last weekend. Really, I should be fired from trying to maintain this household.

  1. I think you get points for washing and drying the clothes. Folding them totally counts as a different chore.

    Also, I am the same way with the terrible grocery shopping. Although it’s not milk I buy it’s black beans because, hello, 2 for 69 cents and they go on/with EVERYTHING!

  3. Good luck drinking that before it goes bad!! Too bad you’re not married to my cereal-addict husband. He’d have that stuff gone in a day or two.

  4. We just had the same laundry issue at my house this weekend. I think the fact that I wash and fold them is quite enough. The King does not think so. They just be put away.

    BLAH!

    Oh, and I could use the milk. Send it my way.

    I’m glad things are going better.

    Really, what was life like without TiVo?

    And more importantly, what did you think of today’s Oprah?
