hello, quarter century

I (quietly) turned 25 this weekend. I celebrated by sleeping away most of my day (next to my sweetie, of course) and eating Afghan food with friends. What more can a girl ask for?

25 things to do during my 25th year:

  1. Learn how to use Photoshop and InDesign on my pretty new Macbook (est. arrival: July 6).
  2. Keep going to morning Boot Camp. (No, I haven’t quit!)
  3. Run a 10K.
  4. Get married to a wonderful guy.
  5. Sew an(other) article of clothing for myself.
  6. Sell unused stuff at a yard sale.
  7. Give money and/or time to a local charity.
  8. Make a monthly budget and stick to it.
  9. Make handmade cards for holidays.
  10. Clean out my fridge more than once.
  11. Go camping.
  12. Learn how to change my blog’s design template.
  13. Write all my thank you notes on time.
  14. Bake a cake from scratch wearing the apron I got for my birthday.
  15. Find some way to thank my parents and parents-in-law for our wedding.
  16. Keep writing.
  17. Paint. Even if it turns out ugly.
  18. Save money for a real house.
  19. Eat a homegrown (by me) tomato.
  20. Finally learn how to spell license and separate without having to think about it first.
  21. Visit my best friend in Austin and my family in Seattle.
  22. Eat more produce from local farms and less processed foods from godknowswhere.
  23. Print my photos and actually put them in albums.
  24. Buy a great pair of jeans.
  25. Be happy.

  1. Happy Birthday!

So does 25 feel old? For some reason I keep thinking that it’ll feel strange.

Great list of things to do. If you find out how to stick to a monthly budget please give me the answer!

  2. 26. Get lasik surgery!?

I whole-heartedly want you to come visit! Now, now, anytime, but now is better! Happy Birthday!

  3. Happy Birthday! I love the list idea. I may have to borrow that this September. Also, surprised to see you have “family in Seattle” (I work in Seattle/live on the Eastside).
Oh, and I didn’t comment to the post on your 15 lines of fame, but I thought it was great. Congratulations.

  4. De-lurking to say that I love your list! I am halfway through 25 and wish I had accomplished half of those things! Happy Birthday. Nice to meet you. :)

  5. Happy belated birthday! Trust me, you might not feel old at 25 (I didn’t), but turning 26 will depress you. For like 2 days anyway - then you realize you’re still young! We just get better with age!

What a great list… If you need help with Photoshop or InDesign, let me know — I help people with those programs as my job! (Not career though, mind you, and I’m certainly no expert. If I could find another job that paid as well, I’d be out of here in a hot second!)

  6. Maybe you should be great and buy a happy pair of jeans?

Belated Happy Birthday. 25– so much time before and ahead!

  7. Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed it (and the Afghan food)!
