another day, another…

…pre-dawn wakeup,
100% humidity,
(but thankfully not still raining),
Rock Creek overflowing,
soggy grass,
fallen trees,
no whining,
no quitting,
but ohmygod it hurts so bad,
are you sure I can’t just walk a little?,
nevermind,
just keep running,
soaked in sweat,
light at the end of the tunnel,
finish up a hill,
five mile run.

Now can I please have that donut?

  1. After I work out (which is really NEVER, but let’s think back to a year ago when it did happen once or twice), I want sweets more strongly than at any other time. It’s like I think I can get away with it because I just worked so hard. Wrong-o! Blech.

  2. I must say that the powdered sugar donut gems a friend and I had after running a 10 mile race in May were the best we’d ever eaten!! I even cut in line to get more! Hmm.. And then I wonder why I gained weight that week even after running…

    Glad to hear the rain stopped– we’re pretty water logged up here in the North East as well!
