the devil wears pasties
July 9th, 2006 @ 9:59 pm | dc, domestic, love, wedding | Post a CommentAndrew’s Best Man, the beloved Chocolate Bear to his Vanilla Bear, whisked him away this weekend for a 48-hour bachelor party extravaganza. It began with a Def Leppard concert in Virginia and ended with gambling and (too much) drinking in Atlantic City. Unfortunately for him, he found himself worshipping the porcelain goddess instead of a Jersey stripper goddess. (The lack of oiled-up, naked, siliconalicious women at his bachelor party borders on epic tragedy, but I am pretty sure he’ll recover. Also, Hi, Mom! You didn’t really read this. Andrew would never visit a strip club, promise.)
I filled my weekend with hefeweizen-drinking on a rooftop in Adams Morgan, hosting a mini-slumber party, watching a few (okay, five) episodes of Whose Wedding is it Anyway, catching The Devil Wears Prada in Georgetown, and eating late-night gazpacho at Cafe la Ruche. Oh, and gabbing with my girlfriends for about 38.2 hours.
All of this left me just enough time for a major housecleaning today. And it left Andrew just enough time to get home and leave his dirty dishes in the sink and dirty clothes on the floor. Ahhhh, the joys of cohabitation. I really did miss him though. This is one more thing to check off the list that signals the wedding is getting closer and closer. And it didn’t even include fake boobs!

Oh, such a tragedy. Guess this means we have to keep your party clean, to be fair.

Poor Andrew! But how lucky is he to come home to you–a domestic goddess! For part of Michael’s bachelor party he went to a strip club with his best man, who is gay, and one of his other groomsmen who is happily married. I can only imagine what a blast they must have had…

I couldn’t get past the Def Leppard part of your entry.
Def Leppard, really?

There’s nothing wrong with Def Leppard!
I’d forgotten your blog url, and Andrew reminded me of it this weekend. All we did was talk about our respective beloveds (I swear, Mrs. Daly ;)) We had a wonderful time.
