best boyfriend ever (but not for long!)

I would just like to announce that I am marrying the bestest guy ever. Why, you ask? Well, aside from his striking good looks, MIT-educated mind, and excellent footrubbing skills, this man is cleaning my house right now as I type this. As in, DUSTING all the surfaces, on a Monday night, after working a 12-hour day. He also did the dishes and took out the trash and y’all - the man is dusting. (Because he feels sorry for my allergies and doesn’t like to see me suffer. How sweet, huh? Also, we got our carpets steam-cleaned today and I can now tell you that the mold is GONE! Annabana will be ecstatic!)

But, as I was saying, Andrew is the best. On Saturday after I woke up I was told that at one o’clock he would be taking me somewhere as a surprise! (In general, I don’t really do surprises very well ever since my 13th birthday when my girlfriends convinced me to wear a padded bra and I went along with it because I thought it was just me and my girls, but Noooooo, there was a surprise party for me, and the cutest boy in school came and I WAS WEARING A PADDED BRA. As you can see, I am still traumatized by this.)

But anyway, I decided to let go of my control freak tendencies and go with the flow for my awesome surprise weekend date (after freaking out about what outfit I should wear and changing my clothes four times). We got in the car and he took me out to this outdoor ampitheatre in Virginia where we had tickets to see the musical Chicago! Yay! I looooove musicals. In the year 2006, Andrew has twice now surprised me with show tickets, and he doesn’t even really like them himself! It’s because he likes me! Damn, I’m spoiled.

I gotta go. I think I hear a nice footrub calling my name…

  1. I’M SORRY ALREADY ABOUT THE PADDED BRA! Andrew is a real sweetie. My (wonderful) hubby hasn’t suprised me with any show tickets since he (accidentally) tooke me to the ballet version of Romeo and Juliet (he thought it was the play.) He won’t make that mistake again!

  3. YAY! NO MORE MOLD!!! You’re right, I’m ecstatic.

And what a great fiance you have! I can’t believe he would actually CHOOSE to go to a musical if he doesn’t especially like them himself (are you sure he’s not a closet musical lover??) :)
And I agree with Alexa, you both are a great lookin couple. Your wedding pics will be awesome, can’t wait to see them!!

  4. Andrew, you might as well just come out of the closet on this one…we all know you love musicals. There is no guy in the world that would VOLUNTARILY subject himself to them otherwise. Either way, it’s very sweet.

  5. Really, Chicago and Les Miz weren’t that bad (Les Miz was about 30 minutes too long though), but I AM NOT a fan of musicals in general. Especially when Jan decides to play the sondtracks OVER AND OVER in the car. I think Rent is just about the ALL TIME WORST THING IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

But I love my sweetie so I persevere.
