calling kitty weight watchers

My cat is fatter than a case of Bush’s Baked Beans.

I swear we feed him diet cat food in very limited and measured portions. He eats no table scraps. And yet, he just gets fatter.

The upside? At least there is someone in this household who needs to go on a diet more than I do.

  1. Hahaha!! He is so cute!
We have the same problem with our cats. No matter how little we feed them, they just keep inflating. I think cats are happiest when they’re fat.

  2. Aw, it’s just a bad angle! I refuse to call my cat fat. He’s “big” and that’s the way I like him. If he doesn’t have a problem with his body image, then neither do I. Don’t buy into the waif culture, Hugo! You’re perfect just the way you are.

  3. What a stomach! I want to squeeze it (in an affectionate way)!

  4. Whoa! I guess I didn’t understand exactly the girth you were talking about until now. Maybe you need to take him on some kitty walks, on a kitty leash? No? Bad idea?

  5. We used to have a cat when I was little, which I swear had a normal name. But I can’t remember what that name was, because we always called her “FatCat.”

    Just more kitty to love!

  6. You have to read the email I sent you, on how to keep your cat thin! I swear, it works!

  7. What is this email of which haggalicious speaks? My cat is so fat and a diet does not seem to work for her either.

Your kitty is sure cute, though.

  8. Why do you have a CASE of baked beans?!

  9. He is super cute. Have you had him checked at the vet’s? Maybe he’s got an overactive thyroid or something. :)

  10. He & I share the same non-photogenic qualities!

  11. He is one big cat.

  12. Oh my goodness that cat is so cute i love orange cats.

  14. […] First, the cat. He is fine, for the most part. The vet does not think it is diabetes (yay for no insulin shots) but is worried about liver/gallbladder disease. We currently have him on pink bubblegum-flavored antibiotics (yes, the kind you took for an ear infection when you were five) and are going to put him on prescription food. So, my wallet is a little (okay, a lot) thinner, the cat is still as fat as a case of baked beans, and the final verdict on his health is still awaiting us, but I am no longer stressing about it. […]
