good news friday

Kelly and her hubs are celebrating three years of marriage! And, oh, they just might have some other big news to share. Amie got a new job yesterday! Jenni adopted a new (desperately adorable) kitten named Wilbur! Everybody’s a winner on Project Runway!

What’s my good news, you ask? (Other than the fact that today is Friday -finally!- and tomorrow we get to pick up our wedding bands from the jeweler and then I have my first dress fitting?)

I can fit into my skinny pants!

Lately I’ve been feeling like my regular pants are just too big, but since the scale hasn’t moved much I was convinced it was because the pants were just old and stretched out. After several tries super-shrinking them in the dryer but still coming home at the end of the day with saggybutt, I finally opened up an old box of clothes that’s been sitting in storage basically since we moved here.

And what do you know, some of my skinny pants fit me again! Not all of them, but a lot of them, and I am at the very least able to button the smallest ones (even if they produce a serious muffin-top in the process). I hope it means that there is light at the end of this stupid dieting tunnel. I hope it means that my dress fitting will go well tomorrow.

  1. Dude. Wearing the skinny jeans rocks! That’s wonderful news. Doesn’t it feel so good?
    I walked out of the bedroom the other morning and my husband was all, “Gone shoppin?” He thought he had busted me out on buying yet another shirt but really, it was one that had simply been in my closet for EVER b/c it hasn’t fit. I loved telling him how old the shirt really was.
