randomest day ever

Crazy things happened today. I just took a Nyquil, so I am limited to writing in bullets. I figure I have about 20 minutes before this stuff knocks me out cold.

  • Nyquil? Why, you may ask, would I need mother freaking Nyquil? Oh, because somehow, for the second time this month, I have contracted a cold/flu/sinus disease and feel like complete crap and have gone through about four boxes of Kleenex and rubbed all the skin off of my nose. AWESOME. Getting married in four days. Head exploding. Red nose. Kill me.
  • Got my first ever bikini wax today. HOLY MOTHER HELL IT HURT. I was squealing like a piglet on that little table while Knong did her magic. I thought I was going to die. I can’t believe I actually PAID for that kind of torture. I would tell you more details, but my father reads the blog. Hi dad!
  • I met Jim Webb. And the infamous macaca, who I actually think is kinda hot in real life? And I ran into a man in the hotel hallway who I guess was Webb’s brother and he was playing the bagpipe. In the hallway. Like I said, really, really random day.
  • When we left Webb’s party, he was behind with 98% of the vote counted. When we got home, he was ahead (by the slimmest of slim margins) with 99% of the vote counted. Andrew = freaking out. Me = head exploding. (Happy but still exploding.)
  • Sorry for all the politics here lately. I promise it will go away….tomorrow. When I go back to planning the wedding.
  • OMG the wedding is four days away. I get on a plane in 32 hours. I AM NOT READY FOR THIS YET.
  • Nyquil setting in……..must log off…….love my readers…..you girls keep me sane……now if you could just nurse me back to health…….

  1. Oh love, I’m sitting here with all appendages crossed that your cold/flu disappears super fast.

Scull the water. Water, OJ, vitamins, geez. Whatever. But water is good.

Holy crap, I can’t believe you had a bikini wax. I am so proud of you. Terrified in support, but proud.

    *hug* Feel better chook!

  2. Yeah I wanted the details about the wax, but I figured asking them over work e-mail was uncouth.

Glued to the television. I’m keeping my fingeres crossed.

Here are two crazy tips for warding off impending colds that I have heard from my natural medicine friend.

    1. Limit your caloric intake to fluids only - juices, clear broths, etc. Liquids only will allow your body to take less energy to digest and more of your energy goes to fighting off the germs.

    2. Get your socks wet and put them in the fridge/freezer. Take a steamy hot bath or shower. Once out, put your freezing socks on and cover yourself in layers of blankets. The idea here is to “trick” your body into thinking that you are way sicker than you are so it will fight REALLY hard.

    I know, they are crazy!

Please get better fast. Now that Andrew is not working, you do not need to leave the couch so you can heal.

  3. How cool that you got to go to that party! It definitely sounds random, but at least it was interesting. :)
Sorry to hear about your cold! Hope it goes away soon. How exciting that you’re getting on a plane tomorrow for your Mexico extravaganza…can’t wait to read the details and see pictures! :)

  4. YAY WEBB!! I AM SO DAMN EXCITED and I hope for Andrew’s sake we have a resolution before you leave the country…

  5. I’ve been reading for a while, and I’m finally delurking to say best of luck on the wedding!! I’ll be away from my computer the rest of the week (going to my own engagement party..yay), so I wanted to make sure I got it in before you left. Have a great time! I can’t wait to read about it all when you return.

  6. Go Webb! Go Mr. Senate guy in Montana too! We had a pretty decent night in Minnesota too. Our new DFL Senator was announced the winner before the Polls closed!

  7. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you’re sick! But at least now it can get out of the way before the big day… Maybe the trauma from the wax caused it. Hey, you never know - the parts of the body are connected in weird ways! Hee hee…

I hope you feel better soon!

  8. I think you should defintely KEEP taking NyQuil…until your honeymoon starts. That way, you’re sure to have things to laugh about when you watch the wedding video later on.

  9. I’m so sorry you’re sick! Just sleep sleep sleep and take vitamens like crazy until we’re in Mexico! Can’t wait to see you soon!

  10. The thing about bikini waxes, unfortunately, is that frequency makes it easier… For real, the first time is BY FAR the worst.

I have my fingers crossed for Webb!!

  11. I am too chicken to get a real bikini wax. You are brave!

  12. oh no! What timing… I hope you get better real fast so you don’t have to be sick in Mexico.

And the bikini wax? I will NEVER. Too chicken for that!

  13. Oh man! I hope you feel better before you leave for Mexico!

I feel for you…I’m sick today…blech. I’ve heard that Zicam is the best medicine when the cold first starts. I can’t say for sure yet because I just started taking it today, but it’s worth a shot.

Good luck! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

  14. You are very brave. I have given birth twice (once without drugs), so I have experienced pain, but I still wouldn’t have the nerve to have a bikini wax, I’d yell the place down like the 40 Year Old Virgin.

  15. I am SO excited about Webb!!! I really hope he beats out macaca in the end–he better!

And you my dear had better get well for your wedding. Get lots of sleep!

  16. Woo hoo! Webb won!!! My vote counted for once!!! Woo hoo!

  17. As a long time fan of the wax, trust me. You’re gonna love it and go back for it again, and again. The pain…is fleeting but the rewards last forever (or at least 6 weeks).
