in other news, prince william is now 25 and can marry without the queen’s permission
June 22nd, 2007 @ 2:24 pm | blonde moments | Post a CommentOn Sunday I turn 26 years old. Happy birthday to me! My celebration this year will be uber low-key. I asked Andrew if we could go on a picnic in the park and just lay around doing crossword puzzles and eating fruit and cheese and sipping champagne. It’s supposed to be sunny and in the 80s and I can’t really imagine anything better right now.
I don’t have any ambitious plans or goals for the upcoming year, except settling into some new routines and finding a new place to live. Compared to last year when I was all frenzied about wedding planning and after that, uncertain about our future plans, this year I feel pretty calm and relaxed.
I guess that means I’m officially boring enough to be embarking on my late-20s. (Andrew tells me 26 is still mid-20s but I think he’s just saying that to make me feel better.)
P.S. I swear I am not as angry as I look in that photo. It’s just that one feels really silly when sitting in front of one’s computer and smiling for a photo. I mean, what if someone were to walk by and think I was trying to flirt with my computer screen or something? No, I must keep a serious face at all times.

You’re SO not in your late 20’s…hold onto the mid-20’s thing as long as you can!!
When you’re 28 like me, then you’re in your late 20’s…yep, pretty sure I might die a little in April when I turn 29 and venture into my last year of the 20’s!! So sad!
Have a fantastic day…I hope it goes exactly as you want it too! And no worries, the picture looks great!

Happy Birthday! I think your picnic plan sounds fantastic. JG and I both have winter birthdays, so we don’t get to do stuff like that for those occasions.
Speaking of crossword puzzles, have you seen Wordplay, the documentary about the NYT crossword? I thought it was really well done.

Tiaras and crowns should be worn in the park as well! Have fun drinking the bubbly.

Sounds like a great birthday plan. . .I hate parties that are about ME! Because I don’t really enjoy lots of people staring at me and watching me.
Also, I don’t think you can be late twenties until you’re 27. My husband officially became late twenties this year.

That sounds like a perfect birthday. Have a great time! (And I’m glad that your husband isn’t the only one trying to convince his wife that 26 is still mid-20’s, because mine does that too.)

You are definitely still mid-20’s. DEFINITELY. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise, yourself included.
I hope you have an awesome day, in your birthday suit or not, hee.

happy birthday! my 27th birthday (last October) was my hardest one for some reason. I just felt like I was almost out of my twenties. You should start watching the “age vs love” show that’s on tv right now… makes you kinda embarrassed to be a 20-something…. The 40 year olds are SO much more fun!

[…] LOLCATS! Finally armed with two incomes, we got our first taste of the real estate market, and boy was it expensive! I out-control-freaked my real estate agent. I hosted a BlogHer Pity Party that totally made me feel better about my own life. (Runners up. Winners.) Our car died and so we got a shiny new (used) one! […]
