  7. Everything except the existential crisis sounds lovely! And the forgetting, well…it probably wasn’t that important anyway, right?

  8. I hope that the existential crisis isn’t TOO existential. And enjoy your blogging break! I hope that canoodling with the husband is a more fun reason not to blog than writing endless grad school application essays has been!

  9. Everyone deserves a blog break…and the chocolate chip cookies, too.

  10. Blog breaks are good for the soul. I’m thinking of having one. Hope the canoodling sorts it all out soon.

  11. I’ve been in a pretty serious existential crisis myself, leading to my even resorting to studying horoscopes. And what I’ve learned is that Mercury is retrograde (explains a lot, in my world) but is turning direct next week. Hmm..not sure I believe it, but whatevs..I WOULD like to think that on November 1 things will turn around! Good luck sorting yours out too!

  12. I’ve loved reading your blog, so don’t go away for to long ;0)

I started reading along when you did a guest post for Isabel.

Enjoy the chocolate, every girl needs snuggling and chocolate.

  13. Enjoy the break, but come back soon!

  14. Enjoy your blog break…enjoy the canoodling…no more crises. :-)

  15. Was it champagne? I think I’ve seen this recipe before and it definitely called for champagne.

  16. I like that combo. I usually add a pinch of trashy celebrity magazine to go along with it, thought.

Seriously, I have been caught in the checkout at various grocery stores with the following making their way down the little conveyor belt: chocolate, ice cream, US Weekly, gum, condoms.

I wish I could find a grocery checkout person’s blog. Now THAT would be interesting.

  17. don’t be gone for too long. i’ll miss reading!

    enjoy the canoodling :)

  18. I don’t know why…but after reading this post the lyric…

“Have I told you lately, that i love you”

    Came into my head…

Is that a sign for something??

  19. Will miss you. Come back well rested!

  20. chocolate & canoodling can fix just about anything…relax & enjoy :)

  21. Hi there! Have been enjoying your blog, and wanted to say hello. Have a lovely time getting your husband and chocolate fix.

  22. I don’t know how to respond to comments. On mine or on yours? I guess it doesn’t matter as I think you are the only one to leave comments on mine?! I love what I am doing and I think the private lessons are more common than I initially thought as well. I think I get more of them because i am so awesome though :)
One year, Janet?! That is amazing. Congrats. I am sure you will have so many wonderful more ahead of you! Enjoy the celebration!

  23. janet, can you and andrew get married again this year? i could really use a beach vacation. thanks.

ps thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. i will make you a cake for your 2nd wedding/my vacation.

  27. You never need an excuse or a recipe to take a blog break. Hope you’re able to recharge!

  28. I bought a bag of chocolate chips today…

    just because.

  29. […] When I posted my highly-scientific recipe for taking a week off, I forgot to add in one key ingredient, perhaps because I didn’t see it coming until it was too late: Four days of being knocked senseless and snot-filled by some kind of cold/flu aka The Virus of Death (TVoD). On Thursday night I self-diagnosed a case of the sniffles as allergies, but it was clear by Friday morning I couldn’t blame this on the ragweed. It’s Monday now and I pretty much haven’t left the house since. […]
