November 12th, 2007 @ 11:40 pm | blonde moments, home | Post a CommentWould you like to know how I spent my first anniversary with my dear husband? Do you think we exchanged gifts and went out for a romantic dinner and smooched in the candlelight? Do you think we watched our wedding video and held hands and whispered sweet nothings about our true love for each other?
We didn’t do any of those things. We hung out with my parents (which was actually really fun) and then, to top it all of with a heavy dose of love and romance, my mom and I painted my bedroom neon green.
I am not even kidding, and I have photos to prove it.
So, yeah. I don’t really know what else to say other than please do not paint your bedroom “wales green.” I wish I could blame the fumes for choosing the color, but I’m pretty sure I picked it out totally sober.
However, because I’d really like to make it to my second wedding anniversary, we will be repainting it tomorrow. How does “pale sea mist” sound to you?
P.S. Are we technically no longer newlyweds now?

It doesn’t look crazy neon on my screen but I’ll take your word for it. When we first got married I thought it would be fun to paint the bedroom yellow. It ended up a crazy bright yellow orange color that was so so horrible. Ugh. I *thought* it would be cheery. Pale sea mist sounds safe.

Um.
Yea, I won’t judge you for picking out that color, mainly because you are changing it lol.
Happy 1st anniversary!

Paint color picking is the worst - you just have no idea what it will look like on the wall (hence our twice painted living room, half painted and repainted study and twice painted bathroom which is awaiting its third color).
Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! Yeah, I would say you are no longer newlyweds. After we had been married for a year I noticed that people didn’t react quite the same. When I told them we had been married for 5 months, they would gush and squeal. Once you hit a year, no one is excited for you anymore. It’s a strange phenomenon.

Happy anniversary! i hope tomorrow’s painting yields happier results. And I think you count as newlywed for at least 2 years.

My mother recently painted her room a fushia pink, she insists it looked different on the swatch. We call her room the Malibu Barbie room now
Picking colors are hard. I recently painted a wall red at my place, which came out pretty good, but luckily it was only one wall.

Call me crazy…but I kinda like that green. It looks really fresh & clean. Especially with, what looks like, white furniture…

[…] My mother is going to just kill me for saying this, but I kind of want to paint my bedroom a different color. […]
