you wish!
January 18th, 2008 @ 12:08 am | pretty things | Post a CommentThanks for all the compliments on the new design. I feel like I had a baby (Jen was the surrogate who did all the uh, laboring) and now you are telling me just how darling and cute my baby is. Like a good mother, I can’t help but agree.
Now that I’m able to add all kinds of widgets, it’s going to be a challenge to keep my sidebar under control. Over at Pink Loves Brown I read about a wishlist widget, which I’m totally working on now. In the meantime, I want to share with you some new products I’ve been using lately that I recommend you put on your wishlists. Pronto.
1. Ultreo toothbrush. This puppy ain’t cheap, but my teeth have never felt cleaner or smoother from daily brushing. And I’ve been using a Sonicare for the past few years, so it’s not like this is my first fancy toothbrush. The Ultreo uses ultrasonic waves to get your teeth and gums seriously clean. And yes that is the scientific term. My almost-a-real-dentist sister insisted that I get one (and thankfully got it for quite a discount). At first I was skeptical, preferring just to keep using the Sonicare. Thank goodness for her powers of persuasion because I really love this thing. Husband and parents all agree. (Sold at Amazon and elsewhere.)
2. Privo Comice shoes. I’m the girl who wears flips flops year round for my walk to the office (at which point I slip on the heels). It’s very hard for me to buy a closed toed shoe that isn’t a fabulous sexy heel or a running shoe. However, my sister got these for Christmas (I’m seeing a trend here with the sister thing) and I ended up wearing them all week. They are uber-comfy and quite versatile, fashion-wise. My mom and I both ended up buying pairs of our own. As much as I love the purple ones, I found the sensible brown ones on sale at Piperlime. Endless has the next best pricing/selection when you factor in their Negative $5 shipping.
3. Prescriptives Flawless Skin Concealer. My basic makeup routine is pretty simple - I can’t live without a light dusting of bronzer and a coat of Great Lash brownish black mascara. But in the winter my skin gets so pale that sometimes I think it might be completely see-through! This makes the dark undereye circles a million times worse. Add in the (hated) occasional acne, and I am a prime candidate for some concealer. I love this concealer because it’s not too yellow, not too too white, not too pink, and definitely not too cakey. (These are all issues I’ve had in the past with other brands.) It provides just the right amount of coverage under tinted moisturizer and makes it look like I get at least 2 more hours of sleep each night than I actually do. I got mine at Macy’s, but I think this brand is sold at many department stores. I wish Sephora carried these products!

Ultreo is on my list too. Just wish I had a little bit more money to get everything I wanted on it. But don’t we all.

I think my sister got shoes similar to those as well! Do you wear with sockies in the winter?

Sister tells me I have to wear socks with them at all times! I guess so they don’t stink.

It looks like you’re settling in nicely here, my dear. Woohoo!
I think that those flats are awesome - I have a pair of ballet type ones here, but still feel like a moron wearing them in public. Gah! I need to get ‘with the times’ I think. EVERYONE in here wears flats!

I have a fistful of Christmas money for a shopping trip this weekend, and black pointy flats are on the list. I’m also scoping out a new bag that’s big enough to hold my camera and/or a book. I think I want to try to go beyond my norm of buying a black bag, but my collection of them goes with everything! I’m pondering green (of course), but maybe purple? Like a berry color?

I love Prescriptives!
I also desperately want a fancy toothbrush… Maybe my sister can go to dental school when she returns from Namibia, cause that is a “spendy” purchase!

How about something for us guys? I mean, the toothbrush is nice but I won’t be bragging about it to my friends.

Love the new design & your blog! I’ve been lurking for awhile, but just saw the West Elm mirror on your Christmas wishlist marked down to $15 and had to tell you. Wow, I really feel like a stalker now. Happy shopping!

Does that concealer dry out your skin? The skin under my eyes is really sensitive and I’m having a hard time finding something that works. I’m also super pale, making dark circles pretty obvious.
