January 29th, 2008 @ 8:32 am | blog, wedding | Post a CommentI swear I have a whole post (maybe two! do you want to know how I feel about the presidential race?) brewing in my head, but it requires embedding a YouTube video and I spent the whole evening tonight just configuring the blog to even play a video. No time for writing anymore, its 1:00 am!
But hey, now that I can play video, do you want to see a tiny little snippet of my wedding? (Yes, I linked to this once years ago, but now I can embed. Obviously so different, duh!) If you ask really nicely maybe one day I’ll actually post part of the wedding itself and not just the group photo we did afterward. Oh, how I wish I could go back to Cabo…
http://www.vimeo.com/646043Edited to add: Okay, I really don’t know what this means, because I am not pregnant and I do not even have a baby registry, but Amazon just sent me this email. Is the universe trying to tell me something?!?! I’m still stuck on the wedding! I’m not ready for a baby!

Um, yikes to the Amazon email. I thought it was a gargantuan ad at first! Maybe people searched for your wishlist and there is more than one Janet/Andrew combo? Maybe?
But, yay for the wedding video!

I have actually been meaning to email you offline to discuss the presidential election.
Also, I love your barefoot photographer!

Oh I want to go there with you next time! Do post the rest of the wedding, I’d love to see it! We didn’t do video and I am sort of sad about it now.

Hmm…I think the universe IS trying to tell you something. I think it’s saying “Janet and Andrew - WTF are you waiting for? Get ON IT!”

That is freaky. Kind of like the thing I got in the mail offering to teach me how to breastfeed.
If you do get a package in the mail, I want to know what’s in it!

Interesting… Wonder what it is?
Maybe amazon, just kind of assumes your moving on to the “next phase”. I think I started getting emails from “thenest” about a year after we got married because of the stuff I had signed up for at “theknot”…

Heh, I think Jane’s on the right track. Maybe Amazon is trying to dictate what level you should be at in your relationship!
You can write back and tell them you have family members who would be more than happy to ask you questions about when you’ll be moving to the next level, thank you very much!

whoa that email would have given me a heart attack! How did someone buy you a gift from your baby registry if you don’t even have one? hehe

Not ready for a baby? Maybe? But what about baby gifts!?

I GOT THAT TOO! I am also registered with them for my upcoming wedding, and we got that terrifying email today also. Must be a glitch. Or a horrible joke.

That email is hilarious. Are you still craving citrus? Maybe the internet can tell.

I’d love to hear your views on the election! None of my “real life” friends really care (sad but true) so I talk to George about it a lot.
How funny about the Amazon baby registry! Should we all start chipping in for a gift? hehe

Haha, how random!? I got mail for a hearing aid once, but I guess yours is a little more personalized, haha.
And love the wedding video, your wedding looks like it was so amazing. Love it.

Probably a phishing thing you got. I’m guessing as soon as you clicked on the Amazon link it asked you to log in and whatnot. But I will warn you that if you buy a book that has anything to do with babies, Amazon will continue to email you all the time with “A new Baby book came out today that we think you will like!”

That is a bit presumptious of them, isn’t it?! No pressure or anything BUT we’re sending you gifts!
I still smile fondly at your wedding reminiscing, as you had only just started planning it way back when I first stalked/found you.

Two things I noticed about the video:
1) your wedding makes me jealous. the red dresses! the woohoo! the side ponytail! it must have been amazing.
2) the guy on the far right has been caught on film feeling up his date/wife/girlfriend. funny.

I have 2 sets of friends, 1 just got married, the other are about to get married, both sets registered for their weddings on Amazon, and they got the same email yesterday. Maybe Amazon is hoping these married folks will continue to use their registries?

Thanks for sharing! I’ve gotten many wedding ideas from your wed-posts over the months (though I have not blatantly stolen any!). My favorite aspect of this video is the Caribbean music in the background.
nice.
