hate: more business trips leaving me home alone are coming up. I’m horrible at living in this house alone — I go to bed late, wake up late, eat crap, and leave a mess in every room. I don’t understand it?!
love: I have an excellent sick leave policy at my workplace.
hate: however, it does not cover calling in sick with acne. Seriously, have you ever had a zit so big you didn’t want to show up at work? Yep, that’s me. Hate.
love: I got an early birthday present of an iPhone! Thanks, Mom!
hate: I am slightly embarrassed at being so ridiculously spoiled and also such a Mac wh8re. But not embarrassed enough to not get one. There, I said it.
love: I can finally join the wonderful worldwide practice of texting.
hate: I am so texting-dumb that I feel like a grandma. R u suposed 2 shortn wrds or is that l8m?
love: it’s April, and that means wedding season is starting! Which gives me all the more reason to think/talk about my own awesome wedding.
hate: it’s April, and it’s COLD AND RAINY. Hate.
love: lovely, lovely cherry blossoms in full bloom
hate: COLD. RAIN.
love: I have yet another reason not to vote for John McCain.
hate: that I am still somehow sucked in to watching The Hills.
love: all of my readers and commenters new and old.
hate: that I don’t take the time to reply to acknowledge your comments often enough. Just know I read and love them all.

hate the cold rain. especially when you take the dog out in said rain then she comes back in and pees on the damn rug and so you have to take her out without a jacket because you needed to get her out. Crazy puppy that hates rain.

It’s so hard to have your spouse leave you, even if it’s for a few days. Hate that too!

I really wanted to come see the cherry blossoms this year but it is so rainy out! We have a cherry blossom tree in our backyard that is no where near blooming, but I guess that will have to do.

I hate abbreviations in texts - especially when they don’t make sense. Except with my husband because we have a few we always use.

Can’t say I’m a texting pro, but my friends and I never abbreviate words. These days, phones have word recognition, where you type the first few letters and it picks the word for you. Kind of makes it easy (once you get used to it!).
LOVE: It’s Friday and the weekend is almost here
HATE: I will spend most of my weekend at IKEA and Home Depot to get my house ready to be put on the market next week.

I can NOT shorten words. My fiance gets annoyed because my copy editor self must send completely grammatically correct texts at all times. Which takes a little longer.

love: this is the only weekend in an approximately two month span where there is nothing going on/no traveling required

hate: That I accidentally signed up for a moving quote site that shopped my email and phone number out to a bunch of moving services, all of which are calling and emailing me incessantly with quotes.
love: After today, only 17 weeks of work!

I’m with you on the cold and rainy thing. The cherry blossoms are SOOO pretty, but the rain takes a lot of that away. I love the spring but only when it’s warm and sunny. I’m sick of this whole gloomy stuff.

Me=Jealous of the IPhone! Usually the word shortening is just for time saving, but I wouldn’t do it unless you are texting someone under 16. I also HATE that I am still watching The Hills. I try to write it off now as only watching for the locations since I’m in LA and like seeing my street on TV, but that somehow sounds more lame.

Does anyone else have a problem viewing the comments? Often, not all the text shows up in them, or when you move your mouse over certain areas, the text in the comment will disappear.

As someone who just recently turned into a texting whore, I think the only real acceptable shortening is u for you - but even that makes me feel like I’m 12.
