about
Hi, I’m Janet. Nice to meet you.
I’m a 20-something living in Washington, DC with my brilliant husband and our giant cats. We’re old marrieds, new homeowners, and political junkies. I work in the nonprofit world doing my part to save the world while I dream of a job where I can wear jeans and show up at noon every day.
You can probably learn a lot about me by reading my year-end reviews. (Here’s 2007, and before that was 2006. [Note: the links on those pages all all broken right now. I swear I’ll fix them soon. Ish.]) In fact, you could probably save yourself a lot of time in life if you just say farewell for now and come back at the end of the year for my next review. But I’d rather you stay, I love my readers and all the friends I’ve made in this crazy, fun world of blogging.
Loves: my family, vintage fabric, my wedding, magazines, dipping my fries in my Frosty, Martha Stewart, footrubs, wrap shirts, pointy-toed shoes, pedicures, babies, my mother-in-law’s cooking, ponytails, candlelight, Howard Dean, good manners, Etsy, Tegan and Sara, TiVo
Hates: my inability to stay awake for the duration of a rented movie, eggplant, loud commercials, aggressive drivers, humidity, fluorescent lighting, GWB, that I can’t pull off skinny jeans
