love: Working from home today.

hate: Husband was also supposed to work from home but ditched me at the last minute AND made me drive him to work. Hmmmm.

love: Open bar at his company party tonight!

hate: I have no good semiformal dress options in my closet. My closet is a sad place right now.

love: Getting Christmas cards in the mail, especially from my bloggy friends.

hate: Haven’t sent my own stack of cards yet, but at least I have all the pieces ready. They just need to be assembled and mailed.

love: Buying Christmas presents for myself. (iPhone case, a print of a photo I like, and a massage)

hate: Not seeing my family over Christmas, especially my adorable nephew.

love: Tons of weekend plans. Holiday parties, book club, a house guest, and dinner with friends.

hate: When will I sleep, laze around, and catch up on my DVR?

love: I’m getting my blog re-designed by the amazing Jen. I seriously am so excited about it!

hate: I desperately need a new profile pic for the blog, twitter, etc, but these days I just look so beat. The dark circles are really killing me and I swear I’ve aged five years. Blah. Double blah. Please send me a makeover team.

love: My daffodils and tulips have sprung through the ground, and I think they’ll be blooming by this weekend.

hate: I’ve still been wearing a coat to work; it’s still pretty chilly out! Come on, spring!

love: I’ve completed a fair number of items on my 30 before 30 list. Perhaps I should post a little update/summary?

hate: Total fail on the 30 days of flossing and the losing 20 pounds. Self-discipline is hard, yo.

love: Went on a date with the husband on Tuesday night. Ordered a pretty, pink cocktail named “Felicity Watermelon Smith” based on the name alone. She was lovely and delicious.

hate: Husband forgot to put our doggie bag in the fridge that night, and then last night we had a mouse. Coincidence?

love: My sister and baby Nolie are coming to visit AGAIN! Impromptu visit, and I am so very, very stoked. And, my sister’s two college roomies are coming, too. Shout out to Kari and Anne-Marie!

hate: No hate here, only excitement.

love: I ordered a book from Better World Books and it arrived 48 hours after my order was placed – awesome!

hate: Super Sad True Love Story is not the most appealing title for a book, right? But I have no choice, Book Club dictates my reading!

love: Pandora’s “Rent, the Musical” station. I’ve been listening to a steady stream of Broadway musicals, Glee covers, and Disney songs. Oh, and some Moulin Rouge thrown in there, too.

hate: I’ve had “Defying Gravity” in my head all. week. long. And I cannot hit that High F, even in my own head.

love: Spent the weekend with my sister and baby nephew and it was awesome. We walked all over Capitol Hill, ate yummy food, talked all day and night, played with the cutest baby ever, etc.

hate: We hardly took any photos. What is wrong with me?!?! We tried to take some at the airport this morning, but it was so early the moon was still lighting the night sky. Auntie FAIL.

love: Andrew and I took our new Capital Bikeshare bikes out for a spin tonight – so fun!

hate: With winter approaching, not sure how much biking we will realistically be doing in the next few months?

love: Laying around on the sofa last night, with my sister and SIL, playing the baby name game. Some things never get old…

hate: The husbands do not like our names. Boo.

love: We have decided to replace all the old, beat windows in our house.

hate: Do you have any idea how ridiculously expensive windows are?!?!

love: My mom and my aunts are coming to DC next weekend for the Rally to Restore Sanity.

hate: I am still trying to un-disaster-ify the casa from the damage we did to it this weekend. Also…I’m slightly worried about sleeping five adults in this tiny house for three nights!

love: That sound you hear right now? My husband is doing the dishes while I’m typing this.

hate: If only I could teach him how to do laundry according to my very peculiar standards…

love: Election Day is just over a week away – hallelujah!

hate: Anticipated election results. I plan to cope by drinking heavily.

Gosh, it’s been awhile since we did one of these! About time…

love: I woke up to a text this morning from my husband telling me he won $900 overnight in Vegas while I was sleeping. (!!!)

hate: New sofas cost more than $900. (But the love majorly overrides the hate in this case.)

love: My parents booked a trip out to DC in March so they can spend five days fixing up my house. They’re going to build a mantle, build bookshelves, put in a new front door, take out some ugly wood siding stuff, and more. My own free handymen!

hate: I haven’t exactly asked for the time off from my boss yet. Why do I dread this so much? Probably because he NEVER takes a day off, not even on the weekends. No joke.

love: I bought some ugly ceramic birds on eBay today. I have big plans for de-uglifying them, though!

hate: When I told my husband I bought ceramic birds on eBay he laughed at me for about 5 minutes with a perplexed look on his face.

love: Thanks to Janssen‘s endorsement, I have started using mint.com. I love it, and no, I am not losing sleep that my identity will be hacked.

hate: It’s a bit of a shock when you think of yourself as a frugal person, and then you are faced with an analysis of every last penny you spend. Wow.

love: The lovely Katharine bequeathed upon me a Beautiful Blogger Award. Awwww, thanks K!

hate: I am such a terrible blogger 99% of the time and am the most terrible at award-y type things. I think ALL of my readers are beautiful!

love: Speaking of beautiful bloggers, Jen is going to help me make a new header. What should replace the beloved cherries?

hate: I feel like I work too much and at the end of the day it’s hard to be on the computer for fun. I often neglect this little blog.

love: My daffodils are starting to peek through the soil.

hate: Surely it’s too early for flowers and they’ll just get frozen to death?

love: We got a brand new washer and dryer delivered today, finally!

hate: Sadly, it’s not much better than the old one. The curse of the tiny appliances to fit in our tiny house, I guess.

love: Thinking about sending photo Christmas cards this year. Where’s the best place to order them, perhaps Costco?

hate: Feeling grinchy about Halloween already; this does not bode well for the rest of the holiday season

love: My sister in law is getting married in less than six weeks!

hate: Perhaps I should think about getting my bridesmaids dress hemmed.

love: Our three year wedding anniversary (seriously, can you believe that?) is in a few weeks.

hate: We celebrated early already. But I bet I can convince him to take me out to a nice dinner anyway

love: Went to my first ever NHL hockey game last night, and it was more fun than I expected!

hate: Being under one roof with tens of thousands of people? Pretty much guaranteed H1N1 exposure, yep.
